I would like to find a way to produce a feature complete video game utilizing nothing but the skills of students because I want to give people the opportunity to pursue their dreams by taking initiative.

When I look around at my fellow college students, I see a lot of potential. I see tons of creative, intelligent, driven, and hardworking individuals, but one thing I rarely see is a cause that unites them. Sure there are tons of group projects to be completed, thousands of hours of homework to be taken upon by buddies, and tonnes of social interactions betwixt them, but the one thing that bothers me most of all is that nobody ever does what they love for fun.

I have experienced firsthand the monotony of college life. Waking up, going to class, churning away at homework, stopping occasionally to eat, and going to bed, only to wake up and repeat these steps again the following day are largely what most people’s days consist of.  Although this is all well and good for some people, I think a huge portion of people lack the fun aspect. I think that the best way to escape from this vicious cycle is to deviate from your norm, by making sure to have some time set aside to have fun.

When it comes to ways to have fun, I know that everyone will have their own unique preferences in what they enjoy doing, but I know what I think is fun, and I know a lot of other people have similar interests. What I like to do is create video games, and because I like creating games for fun and have largely gathered others around me who enjoy game making, I have developed a unique set of skills surrounding the production of games. Now that I am in college and I see not only that there are other people who share my interests, but also others who are lacking the fun outlet, I have made it my mission to combine these two interests and create a feature complete game.

Creating a feature complete game is unique in the way that it is a continuous and impressive goal for a group of students to take on themselves. For this reason, I believe that creating a feature complete game is a great way to bring people together under one banner. Furthermore, setting yourself upon a path towards a real-world goal is something that helps others to see that they can accomplish their own goals, if only they would set out to do something about it.

Ultimately the reason I want to make this game is simple, I want to bring people together in pursuit of something greater. I know that others want to accomplish tremendous tasks in their lives and that they can do it, but they don’t have to do it alone. I want to show people that they are wonderful and can reach any height, finish what they have started, and go for the gold. Nobody has to settle for average, because nobody is average.


In order to undertake this momentous task, I must first complete a rigorous set of milestones to prepare myself for the upcoming trials and tribulations of creating a feature complete game.
